  1. Are you accepting new patients?

    • YES, we are taking new patients

    • We see patients for all medical, cosmetic, and surgical skin care needs

  2. Is the doctor Board-Certified and an expert in dermatology?

    • YES, Dr. Dan Ilkovitch is board-certified and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD), the only organization to certify dermatologists in the United States of America (USA).

    • Doctors who are board-certified in Dermatology in the USA have to complete:

      • a 4-year undergraduate degree

      • graduate from a 4-year Medical school earning a “MD” degree

      • complete a 1-year internship in Internal Medicine/Surgery

      • complete a 3-year dermatology residency and passing a board certification exam

      • This is a minimum of 12 years of training.

    • Dr. Dan Ilkovitch completed the 12 years of training and also completed a 4-year PhD in Immunology and Microbiology

    • Dr. Dan Ilkovitch has published widely in the medical fields of Dermatology and Immunology (Pubmed), and has appeared on WPLG Local 10 (ABC affiliate in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) "Healthcast" .

  3. Do you treat all medical conditions of the skin, hair, or nails?

    • YES, Dermatologists treat over 3000 skin, hair, nails, and mucosal conditions (Medical)

  4. Do you offer cosmetic treatments?

    • YES, we offer a wide variety of anti-aging and aesthetic procedures. Including neuromodulators, fillers, peels, scar treatments, Platelet-rich plasma, and topicals designed to address signs of aging and to enhance your overall skin health.

    • Our approach is not one-size-fits-all. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter results. Before any treatment, we conduct a thorough consultation to understand your unique goals, facial anatomy, and comfort level. Whether you are looking for a subtle “refresh” to look well-rested or a more comprehensive rejuvenation plan, we tailor every recommendation to help you achieve natural-looking results that feel like you.

  5. What do I have to prepare for if I have a surgery scheduled at Complete Dermatology?

    • Notify office of any allergies, blood thinners, medications, artificial joints, artificial heart valves

  6. What do I have to expect after a surgery at Complete Dermatology?

    • After your surgery we will go over complete wound care instructions, and provide you with a handout describing what you can and cannot do

  7. Is Insurance accepted at Complete Dermatology?

    • YES, we take most major insurance carriers: Medicare, Amerihealth, Oscar, Ambetter / Sunshine health, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Multiplan, First Health, as well as others.

    • You can call our office directly to verify if we take your specific insurance policy (Contact), and also check your insurance carrier website or portal to verify we are in network.

  8. Does the office have parking?

    • YES, the office has a parking garage. You must enter the garage from the Biscayne Blvd entrance, follow signs towards the Red tower. You can usually find plenty of parking spots on the 4th floor, then take the elevator down to the ground 1st floor.

    • The office is located on the ground 1st floor of the RED tower

    • Bring your parking ticket to the appointment, for limited time validation of regular parking

  9. What should I consider before scheduling an appointment for a Cosmetic procedure?

    • Any procedure to the skin can result in temporary bruising, marks, downtime, or swelling

    • Procedures can result in these temporary changes of different duration

    • Consider any important events (i.e., work meetings, weddings, commercials, modeling shoots, bar and bat mitzvahs, vacations) when scheduling

    • Discuss with office how long before any important events you should consider scheduling for specific surgical or cosmetic treatments

  10. Do I need a referral to be seen using my insurance?

    • You have to check your insurance card and/or with your insurance carrier

    • Commonly many “HMO” insurance plans do require referrals to be seen

    • Some HMO plans, like Humana Gold, allow a number of visits each calendar year without referrals

  11. How do I prepare for my skin check or medical visit?

    • We suggest no makeup, no nail polish

    • Think about any specific spots you may be worried about

    • Bring a list of any medications, allergies, and history of skin conditions

  12. Is there a cancellation/no-show policy?

    • We understand that plans change. To ensure we can accommodate other patients who need care, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot make your appointment.

    • Booking an appointment reserves a time with our dedicated team, and takes time away from another person who may urgently need to get in for a medical condition. If you do not notify us of cancellation, and no-show to your appointment, we assess a $50 charge for regular appointments and $100 charge for procedure or surgical time.

  13. Does the office usually run on time ?

    • We know your time is valuable, and we strive to always respect the time of all our patients. Once patients complete filling out their new patient forms and consents, they are taken to a clinic room to be seen by the doctor.

    • On rare occasions we may have unexpected medical complexities that require a bit more time than can be anticipated. When that happens we don’t rush those patients, because we are committed to providing the same thorough, high-quality care to everyone. If we are running behind, we will always aim to keep you informed. We appreciate your patience and promise to give you our full, undivided attention during your personal visit.

  14. Can I have a procedure the same day as a medical visit?

    • This depends on multiple factors and may or may not occur on the same day as a medical visit

      • Keep in mind some insurances require prior authorizaiton for procedures

      • Some procedures require preparation of equipment and office supplies or resources

  15. Does Complete Dermatology treat complex medical conditions and prescribe systemic medications?

    • YES, our practice is fully equipped to manage complex medical dermatology. We treat a wide range of chronic and inflammatory skin conditions (i.e. skin cancer, melanoma, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, autoimmune disease, difficult rashes)

    • We offer a full spectrum of treatment options, including oral medications and biologic therapies

    • We treat conditions using evidence-based medical guidelines and recommendations, and will work closely with you to manage any required regular lab monitoring and follow up visits, ensuring that your path to clearer skin is both effective and safely supervised
